At its annual meeting, the Board of Directors of the Virginia Public Access Project elected four new members to three-year terms. They are:
William Fralin: He is the president of Medical Facilities of America, a chain of nursing homes. Fralin is a former Republican state legislator from Roanoke.
Nicole Riley: She is the State Director of the National Federation of Independent Business in Richmond. Riley chaired the VPAP Young Associates Board that planned the very successful Roast of Jeff Schapiro earlier this year.
Ann Rust: She is the Deputy State Director for U.S. Sen. Mark Warner (D-Virginia) in his Tysons Corner office. Previously, Rust worked on the staff of U.S. Rep. Tom Davis (R-Virginia).
William E. Wilson: He is the retired head of the Division of Automated Legislative Systems, the state agency that compiles and publishes online bill information. Wilson has been an active member of the VPAP Policy Committee for several years.
Cal Whitehead, immediate past president of VPAP, was appointed to a second three-year term.
The Board appointed the following officers:
Jeff Merriman - Board Chair
Albert Pollard Jr. - Vice Chair/Secretary
William Wilson - Treasurer
The Board also recognized the dedication and efforts of two departing board members:
Anne Gambardella: She served six years, including one year as Chair of the Board.
Austin Ligon: Served one three-year term and was active on the Finance Commitee.
