During August, President Barack Obama and challenger Mitt Romney each raised more than $1.4 million from Virginia individuals in donations of $200.
- Romney: 2,022 donations totaling $1.5 million (average: $759)
- Obama: 2,952 donations totaling $1.4 million (average: $491)
