Two new candidates have filed paperwork to raise money for the House of Delegates:
- Monte Johnson (Democrat), a senior consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton, is challenging incumbent Del. Randy Minchew (R-Leesburg) for his seat in House District 10. This is Johnson's first bid for public office.
- Herb Kemp (Democrat), the CEO of defense contractor OneALPHA, has announced plans to challenge against Del. Tom Rust (R-Herndon). Kemp joins joins Jennifer Boysko, legislative aide to Fairfax County Supervisor John Foust, in seeking the Democratic nomination in House District 86, which straddles the Fairfax-Loudoun line near Dulles Airport.
