VPAP already has the conflict-of-interest forms posted for incumbent members of the House of Delegates and any challenger or open seat candidate who ran in a June 9 primary.
This leaves 46 House candidates whose forms at not yet online. VPAP just received the final batch of forms from the House Clerk's office and will have the forms posted in the next week.
Why does VPAP post the conflict forms?
Virginia's system of representative government is dependent in part upon the ability of part-time citizen legislative members to participate fully in the legislative process. To ensure citizens maintain the highest trust in their elected representatives, candidates for the General Assembly are required to disclose certain personal financial information (such as employment, investments and business partnerships). The information in these forms provide transparency in situations where a candidate's financial interest potentially could influenced by their personal finances.
