Three Virginia Beach candidates have filed paperwork with the State Board of Elections in anticipation of a special election in Senate District 8.
The incumbent Senator, Ken Stolle, is running for Sheriff of Virginia Beach next month. If Stolle wins, a special election would be called to fill the remainder of his current term, which runs through January 2012.
The three candidates are:
- Jeff McWaters (Republican)
- Omar Pickron (Independent)
- Rosemary Wilson (Republican)
A fourth candidate, Jeffrey Breit, filed paperwork but then later reportedly decided not to run.
