Update: Third-Quarter PAC Reports
Date: 10/22/2009
With so much attention focused on candidates in the November elections, last week's deadline for 500+ non-candidate political committees to file campaign finance reports went largely unnoticed.
These reports -- which cover activity during the months of July, August and September -- offer a trove of information.

The VPAP database tracks the largest PACs, which raise at least $10,000 a year and file their campaign finance reports electronically. The VPAP database captures all donors to these PACs that give $250 or more during a calendar year. (Because of limited resources, VPAP does not track PACs that disclose on paper or donors to e-file PACs that give less than $250 a year.)
The fourth-quarter PAC reports will be due January 15, 2010.
