Candidates in cities holding May 2010 elections for Mayor and City Council had until March 2 to file to be on the ballot. In the seven May races that VPAP will be tracking, 75 candidates qualified to run for 30 seats. VPAP has posted a final list of the candidates who were certified.
Chesapeake (17 candidates for 5 At-Large seats)
Portsmouth (8 Candidates for 3 At-Large Seats)
Norfolk (Every district but one is contested)
Hampton (6 candidates for 3 At-Large Seats)
Newport News (Every district contested)
Fairfax City (9 candidates for 6 At-Large Seats)
Roanoke (7 candidates for 3 At-Large Seats)
