VPAP looked at the 2012 General Assembly committee assignments to determine which panels are the most desired.
In the Senate, six former lawmakers did not return this year – opening up a number of slots. The assumption is that returning members would take dibs on the better committees. The first chart below is limited to Republicans, who controlled assignments and, presumably, would make ever effort to give members their first choice.
