CONNAUGHTON TEMPERS COMMENTS ON PORT STUDY

Connaughton held his fire in the first public discussion of a new legislative report on the Port of Virginia that he denounced last week as tainted by a conflict of interest. Connaughton told the House Appropriations Committee on Monday that he was “disappointed” in how the Joint Legislative Audit and Review Commission carried out the study, which legislators had sought because of conflicting assessments of the port’s financial condition.
