Virginia's campaign finance laws require non-candidate political committees to report any single donation of $10,000 or more within three business days of receipt. Here are PACs that have reported large donations since December 10:

The nonpartisan Virginia Public Access Project has posted 47 lobbyist registrations received from the Secretary of the Commonwealth since December 14. In this batch there were:

VPAP has posted the latest campaign finance disclosures for candidates who ran in November for mayor and city council in Portsmouth.

Dec. 18 Special Election

The two candidates running in House District 89 have filed campaign finance disclosures in advance of Tuesday's special election. The District includes portions of Norfolk.

House District 89 - Map
  • Daun Hester (D) - Raised $14,965
  • James St. John (Ind) - Raised $110

Note: Because of technical difficulties, the State Board of Elections was unable to provide a complete copy of Hester's report. As a result, a number of itemized contributions and expenditures are missing.

Hester is a former Norfolk City Council member who gave up her seat in 2010 to challenge Norfolk Mayor Paul Fraim. In October, Hester defeated banker Yvonne T Allmond in a Democratic primary by a margin of 3:1. House District 89 is 59% African-American. Demographics
