Dec. 18 Special Election
The two candidates running in House District 89 have filed campaign finance disclosures in advance of Tuesday's special election. The District includes portions of Norfolk.
House District 89 - MapNote: Because of technical difficulties, the State Board of Elections was unable to provide a complete copy of Hester's report. As a result, a number of itemized contributions and expenditures are missing.
Hester is a former Norfolk City Council member who gave up her seat in 2010 to challenge Norfolk Mayor Paul Fraim. In October, Hester defeated banker Yvonne T Allmond in a Democratic primary by a margin of 3:1. House District 89 is 59% African-American. Demographics
