Free Fun Fridays: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 28, Griffin Museum of Photography, 67 Shore Road, Winchester. The Highland Street Foundation will have its seventh annual Free Fun Fridays initiative, where visitors will have free admission to all exhibits. Guests can tour three exhibitions, including “The 21th Juried Show: The Peter Urban Legacy Exhibition” in the Main Gallery, “Transmission” by Lindsey Beal in the Griffin Gallery and “1972” by Noritaka Minami in the Atelier Gallery. Town barbecue and concert: 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 11. Jenks Center, 109 Skillings Road, Winchester. The Town of Winchester invites residents to celebrate the rebuilding efforts of the Jenks Center. This town-wide family barbecue will feature a cash bar with beer and wine, raffles, games, prizes and music by Winchester’s own Miss Ellaneous. The barbecue is sponsored by Salter Healthcare. MusicFest open house: 2 to 4 p.m. Sept. 12, Winchester Community Music School, 407 Highland Ave., Winchester. Residents of all ages are invited to attend a musical open house which features a school-wide instrument petting zoo, demo classes, live performances and a musical passport journey. Ensemble open house: 2 to 5 p.m. Sept. 13, Winchester Community Music School, 407 Highland Ave., Winchester. The school will match attendees with one of their existing ensembles, or create a new ensemble with a special focus. Musicians of all genres and levels are welcome. Winchester Farmers Market: 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturdays seasonally, Winchester Town Common, Church Street and Waterfield Road. Winchester Farmers Market has returned to the town common for the summer and fall seasons. The market provides local fruits and vegetables, cheese, meats, eggs, seafood, wines, beverages, ready-to-eat foods and baked goods. Members of the Chamber of Commerce, Winchester Artists Network and community groups have tents on a rotating basis. Shoppers can enjoy live music, artists, cooking demos and art activities for kids. Concerts on the Common series: 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Winchester Town Common, Church Street and Waterfield Road. The Concerts on the Common series is back this year with performances by several artists including the Toe Jam Puppet Band, Brass Quintet and Backburner. The free series is part of the Winchester Recreation program and sponsored by Winchester Savings Bank, Winchester Cooperative Bank and Fells True Value Hardware.

Toastmasters Club meetings: 7 to 8:30 p.m. first and third Tuesdays, Winchester Public Library, 80 Washington St. Toastmasters focuses on improving public speaking and leadership skills, and welcomes guests and new members. For information: winchestertm.com.

WCMS registration open: Registration for over 30 different early childhood, dalcroze eurhythmics, and group classes for fall 2015 is underway at the Winchester Community Music School, 407 Highland Ave. Offerings include music and movement for children aged 18 months through 3 years; dalcroze eurhythmics classes for ages 4 and up; and group classes in guitar, piano, percussion, voice and more for ages 5 to adult.
