Landes, R-Weyers Cave, earned the nomination when no other Republican candidates filed prior to the 8 p.m. deadline on Tuesday.
"I look forward to running for re-election as the Republican candidate for the Virginia House of Delegates in the 25th District,'' Landes said in a press release.
The delegate said, if re-elected, he would continue to promote the principles of "limited government, personal responsibility, and individual liberties -- principles that the Republican Party represents."
Landes is chairman of the House Education Committee and vice chairman of the House Appropriations Committee.

The delegate will have Democratic opposition for the seat in November. As of now, Albemarle County resident Angela Lynn has announced her plans to seek the Democratic nomination. She was defeated by Landes in 2015. Any other candidates face a Friday deadline for the nomination.
House District 25 covers portions of Augusta, Albemarle and Rockingham counties.
