Summary

As Introduced. Electric utility regulation; solar energy.

Declares that it is in the public interest for the electrical supply of the Commonwealth to include at least 10 percent electricity derived from sunlight from facilities located in the Commonwealth, including distributed generation facilities owned or operated by or on behalf of customers. The measure also increases, from 500 megawatts to 15,000 megawatts, the aggregate rated capacity of solar energy generation facilities located in the Commonwealth as to which their construction or purchase by a utility is in the public interest.
