Summary

As Introduced. Prescription Monitoring Program; requirements of prescribers; exceptions.

Provides that a prescriber initiating a new course of treatment to a human patient that includes the prescribing of opioids, anticipated at the onset of treatment to last more than seven consecutive days, shall not be required to request information about the patient from the Prescription Monitoring Program if the purpose of the prescription is the management of pain associated with fibromyalgia, provided that management of the patient's pain through means other than the prescription of opioids has been unsuccessful.
