Summary

As Introduced. Uniform Statewide Building Code; Board of Housing and Community Development; provisions for buildings and structures in rural areas in which commercial enterprises are located.

Directs the Board of Housing and Community Development to make amendments to the Uniform Statewide Building Code applicable to buildings and structures in rural areas in which commercial enterprises are located. The bill provides that the amendments shall not apply to any building or structure for which (i) a building permit has been issued or on which construction has commenced or (ii) working drawings have been prepared in the year prior to the effective date of the amendments. The bill also requires the Board to establish guidelines for the adequate training of building officials, enforcement personnel, contractors, and design professionals regarding Building Code provisions applicable to farm buildings and structures.
