Summary

As Passed House of Origin. Retention of case records; electronic format.

Allows the clerk of a district court to destroy the papers, records, and documents in civil and criminal cases after the case has ended if such papers, records, and documents have been microfilmed or converted to an electronic format. Under current law, such records can be destroyed after three years. Current law exceptions for records with administrative, fiscal, historical, or legal value and records for certain specified misdemeanors are retained. (Less)
