How to Read This Chart
The seven-day average is used to smooth out the data over time and avoid large swings from a single day's number. It is calculated by averaging the deaths from the current day and six previous days.
On April 5, VDH began to include "probable" COVID-19 deaths, which are patients who died after a clinical diagnosis but were not tested for COVID-19.
