VPAP Index

How each General Assembly district leans Republican or Democratic compared to Virginia as a whole. Methodology

Methodology: The VPAP District Index ranks how each of Virginia's 140 legislative districts performed relative to the statewide results in the most recent Presidential (2016) and Gubernatorial (2017) elections. For instance, "+6.7 Rep" would indicate two things: 1) Republican candidates for president and governor performed better in a district than they did statewide and 2) the spread between GOP and Democratic candidates in the district was on average 6.7 percentage points wider than the statewide results.
