UPDATE: In July 2020, Blume pleaded guilty. The Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office said the judge sentenced her to 365 days with 355 days suspended, 12 months of ASAP, 24 months of good behavior and she has to pay a $250 fine.

UPDATE: Blume was charged with DWI during a traffic stop on Sept. 5. She received a disorderly conduct charge during a separate, unrelated incident on August 10. The original article indicated both charges stemmed from the Sept. 5 incident.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — The campaign manager for a candidate running for the Virginia House of Delegates 85th District has resigned amid a DWI charge.

Taylor Blume was charged with driving while intoxicated on Sept. 5. She has since resigned as the campaign manager for Rocky Holcomb.

Virginia State Police Sgt. Michelle Anaya said a trooper pulled over Blume for reckless driving and failing to maintain lane. The trooper noticed an odor of alcohol and conducted a field sobriety testing.

Sgt. Anaya said Blume tested positive on a preliminary breath test. She was arrested and transported to the Virginia Beach City Jail.

Court records show Blume was charged with disorderly conduct in an unrelated incident on August 10.

Holcomb is again running for a seat in the 85th District, which represents parts of Virginia Beach.

“When this was brought to our attention we asked for her resignation and she submitted it and is no longer with the campaign.”
