Candidate for House of Delegates Charged With DUI

Jasper L. Hendricks, III, candidate for District 60 of the Virginia House of Delegates, was arrested Saturday, August 31, 2013 in Farmville and charged with driving under the influence.

According to court documents, Hendricks’s blood alcohol level was .15, nearly twice the legal limit. The arrest stemmed from a traffic stop on South Main Street in Farmville at 1:56 a.m.

Hendricks will return to court on September 30, 2013.

When asked about the incident, Hendricks responded, “I am deeply sorry for the actions that resulted in this circumstance. I am represented by legal counsel who is working with the authorities in investigating what happened on that evening. I accept total responsibility and will deal with whatever penalty comes my way in this matter.”
