MONEY IN, MONEY OUT: HOW LOUDOUN CAMPAIGNS FARED

By ERIKA JACOBSON MOORE, Leesburg Today

The latest round of campaign finance reports showed that while the summer months slowed the money flow for some candidates, others saw a steep uptick in the money they have raised for November's election. This reporting period ran from July 1 to Aug. 10, and was filed Aug. 15. The top fund-getter this period was Supervisor Andrea McGimsey, a Democrat running for reelection to the Board of Supervisors in a new district, Broad Run. McGimsey raised $29,667 in contributions and in-kind donations this period, with a number of donations passing the $1,000 mark. McGimsey's big reporting period this month brought her campaign's total to $35,486.88.
