Two openly gay members of Virginia’s legislature have introduced bills to repeal now-moot sections of the state constitution and state law that prohibit same-sex marriage. Rulings in federal court and ultimately the U.S. Supreme Court have superseded the provisions in state law that state Sen. Adam P. Ebbin, D-Alexandria, and Del. Mark D. Sickles, D-Fairfax, want to take off of the books.
