Republicans in Virginia's 4th Congressional District nominated Ryan McAdams, an evangelical pastor, as their nominee against Democratic Rep. Donald McEachin in November, according to unofficial results. McAdams, of Charles City County, won Tuesday's primary against Shion Fenty, an officer manager from Chesterfield County.

Republican voters in the 4th Congressional District will decide Tuesday between an evangelical minister and the daughter of South American immigrants. The winner of the GOP primary will face an uphill task of challenging Rep. Donald McEachin, D-4th, who is seeking a second term in November. Shion Fenty, 37, an office manager, and Ryan McAdams, 46, who founded a church, have been campaigning across the 4th, which stretches from Suffolk and Chesapeake in Hampton Roads to Richmond and parts of Henrico and Chesterfield counties.
