There will be 60 major-party contests in the House of Delegates this November -- the most since 1997 when VPAP began tracking Virginia elections.
The previous high was 55 major-party contests in 2009, the last-gasp try for Democrats to regain power before district lines were redrawn again in early 2011.

One-third of House seats will be uncontested this fall.
