Nine New General Assembly Candidates
June 11 was the deadline for General Assembly candidates running in November. The State Department of Elections is still compiling the official list of candidates who qualified for the November 5 ballot.
VPAP has added nine names to its unofficial list of 2019 General Assembly candidates in the last week.

Jim Barker (D) is seeking the seat held by Del. Jeff Campbell (R-Marion). HD 6 includes Carroll and Wythe counties and part of Smyth County.
Darlene Lewis (D) is seeking the seat held by Del. Joe McNamara (R-Roanoke). HD 8 includes Craig County and Salem, and parts of Montgomery County and Roanoke.
Billy Fishpaw (I) is seeking the seat held by Del. Ronnie Campbell (R-Raphine). Christian Worth (D) is also running. HD 24 includes Bath and Rockbridge counties, Buena Vista, Lexington and parts of Amherst and Augusta counties.
Terry Modglin (I) is seeking the seat held by Del. Alfonso Lopez (D-Arlington). HD 49 includes parts of Arlington County and Fairfax.
Heather Cordasco (R) is seeking the seat held by Del. Mike Mullin (D-Newport News). HD 93 includes Williamsburg and parts of Newport News and James City and York counties.
Ella Webster (D) is seeking the seat held by Del. Keith Hodges (R-Urbanna). HD 98 includes Essex, Gloucester, King and Queen, Mathews and Middlesex counties and part of King William County.
Waylin Ross (I) is seeking the seat now held by Sen. Rosalyn Dance (D-Petersburg), who was defeated in Tuesday's Democratic primary by Joe Morrissey. SD 16 includes Petersburg and Hopewell, and parts of Richmond, Chesterfield and the counties of Prince George and Dinwiddie.
Steven Nelson (I) is seeking the seat held by Sen. John Edwards (D-Roanoke). SD 21 includes the City of Roanoke and Giles County, and parts of Montgomery and Roanoke counties.
Arthur Purves (R) is seeking the seat held by Sen. Janet Howell (D-Reston). SD 32 includes parts of Fairfax and Arlington counties.
