The Cost of Winning Local Elections

Note: Based on spending in 2021. Arlington, which has a unique County Board form of government, is listed with Board of Supervisors.
Virginia law exempts candidates from filing campaign finance reports if they do not accept contributions from others, and do not raise or spend more than $1,000 of their own money.
