Big Donors Flock to Youngkin

In his first two full quarters in office, Gov. Glenn Youngkin, a former private equity executive, has taken greater advantage of Virginia's unlimited campaign finance laws than his predecessors. In the last six months, his PAC has raised $3.2 million in donations of $10,000 or more — more than twice as much as his predecessors.

Source: Information in this visual comes exclusively from accelerated financial disclosures required of all Virginia PACs that receive single donations of $10,000 or more. The transactions cover the period of April through September in the following years: 2010 by Opportunity Virginia PAC (Gov. Bob McDonnell); 2014 by Common Good VA (Gov. Terry McAuliffe); 2018 by The Way Ahead (Gov. Ralph Northam); and 2022 by Spirit of Virginia (Gov. Glenn Youngkin). The visual does not include any contributions in amounts smaller than $10,000.
