House Nomination Contest Results

Here are the results from four party nomination contests for House of Delegates held last weekend:

House District 3

Incumbent Del. Will Morefield (R) won a Republican convention in this Southwestern Virginia district on Saturday. Morefield is currently unopposed in November. HD 3 includes Bland, Buchanan, and Tazewell counties and portions of Russell County. 

House District 26

Brent Finnegan (D) won a Democratic firehouse primary in this Shenandoah Valley district last Friday. Finnegan will face incumbent Del. Tony Wilt (R) in the general election this November. HD 26 includes Harrisonburg and portions of Rockingham County. 

House District 30

Ben Hixon (D) won a Democratic convention in this Piedmont region district on Saturday. Hixon will face incumbent Del. Nick Freitas (R) in the general election this November. HD 30 includes portions of Orange and Madison counties, and portions of Culpeper county. 

House District 73

Debra Rodman (D) won a Democratic convention in this Richmond-area district on Saturday. Rodman will face Republican incumbent Del. John O'Bannon (R) and independent challenger Kevin Gary in the general election this November. HD 73 includes portions of Henrico County.
